Cookie a day: Don’t Be Blind, Know The Truth

13 He replied, “Every plant that My heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. 14 Leave them alone! They are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

Matthew 14:13-14

Satan’s plants are called weeds which he plants next to God’s people for the sole purpose of their destruction. These blind leaders direct the rest of the blind into a spiritual pit of no return. To be blind is to be in the dark, and to be in the dark shows the absence of God who is the light for men. Light consumes darkness. You can turn on the light switch in a room and the darkness disappears. But, you cannot turn on the darkness and make the light disappear. How can the blind leaders find the direction of the pit to fall into it? Because Satan is the one leading them to it and uses them to make the rest follow suit. Don’t be blind, seek Jesus today.

  1. This is a great post, SpaniardVIII. Being spiritually blind is just as bad as being spiritually unable to understand the Word of God.

This reminds me of when Jesus was speaking of a parable of the blind leading the blind. He was saying that those Christians who are spiritually blind cannot lead those who are also spiritually blind because neither will know where to go. Jesus was also talking about the Pharisees who were spiritually blind and didn’t see that the kingdom of God was already at hand through Christ.

This post also reminds me of blind Bartemaeus who, while physically blind was spiritually enlightened being able to see spiritually that Christ was the Son of God. We as Christians should never be spiritually blind because we will be caught unaware of the temptations and traps of Satan.

    1. Hello Joshua, thanks for your comment. A Christian’s blindness and a non-Christian’s blindness are different. A blindness to a believer refers to not reading Scripture and for a short time can be led in the wrong direction. For an unbeliever, it just means to be in darkness which reflects the absence of Christ in their hearts.
