Being Attached To The Lord

34 Once again Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and she said, “Now at last my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” So he was named Levi. -Genesis 29:34 BSB

The name Levi means attached to, as Leah wanted her husband to be attached to her so that she would feel his love. The Levites were the ones that God chose to worship and minister before Him (Deuteronomy 18:5) when the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt. In the New Testament, we are considered priests in a spiritual sense (1 Peter 2:9). We are priests in respect to our worship of the Lord and the sacrifices we do for Him by living according to God’s Word.

Also, just like the name Levi means, we too must be attached to the Lord and love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
