God Created The Universe In Six Literal Days

Cookie A Day

11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.

-Exodus 20:11, BSB

The sabbath was meant for people and animals to rest from their labors [Exodus 23:12]. It also shows that God worked six literal days in creating the universe. He wanted His people to work six literal days as He did and on the last day, the sabbath, to rest and honor God.

God’s power was revealed in His six-day creation, not in thousands of years. He did that, which by the way, God could have created everything in one day, but He did it in six days to give us a model to follow with our work.
