Cookie a day: God Has A Purpose For Your Life

30 Lamech lived 595 years after Noah’s birth, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 31 So Lamech’s life lasted 777 years; then he died.

Genesis 5:30-31

Lamech’s precise death at the age of 777 years old was divinely orchestrated (the number 7 which refers to God as the number 666 refers to Satan). It was to let the world know that God was going to cleanse the world of evil through the flood and start anew through Noah and his family. The reason why God used floodwaters and not something else was that water represents the Holy Spirit who is a cleaning agent of sin for those who repent. Through the flood, He would cleanse the world of evil.

The world represents a person

The wicked people represents sin

Everything that occurs in your life has a purpose.

1. If you have sinned, God is disciplining you to get your attention so that you may repent.

2. What’s happening to you right now might seem bad but God is using it for something better in your life. Tribulation builds up one’s character to reflect Jesus in their life.

3. Remember, Your life has been mapped out and where you are at, is where He wants you to be.

  1. I like this post, SpaniardVIII when you stated, “… The reason why God used floodwaters and not something else was that water represents the Holy Spirit who is a cleaning agent of sin for those who repent. Through the flood, He would cleanse the world of evil.”

I like this quote because as the Holy Spirit washes over us, we are renewed in Christ Jesus.
